We'll visit the beaches and caves along the coast of Sesimbra, such as Armação beach or Baleeira beach, where you can see countless species of fish (bream, redfish, sole and mackerel), molluscs (sea slugs, cuttlefish and squid), crustaceans (european spider crabs) and echinoderms (sea cucumbers).

MOST COMMON FISH SPECIES AND MARINE LIFE IN THE BAYS OF SESIMBRA
White seabream (Diplodus sargus): it has an oval body with a silver-gray coloration. Adults have 1 black vertical stripe on the caudal peduncle and 9 alternating dark and light vertical stripes on the sides, while juveniles have only 5 darker stripes. It feeds on molluscs, crustaceans, echinoderms (sea urchins) and seaweed.
Mackerel (Scomber colias): it has an elongated body without scales and a light, silvery color on the belly and blue-green on the back. It feeds on fish, molluscs and small crustaceans.
Mullet: vulgar name for various fish of the Mugilidae family. Golden grey mullet (Liza aurata, blue-grey color and silver on the flanks), flathead grey mullet (Mugil cephalus, greyish color with a silver belly), thinlip mullet (Liza ramada, bluish color on the back and lighter on the belly).
Sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax): it has an elongated body with a thick caudal peduncle and a silver-grey coloration, with blue or green highlights on the back and a black spot on the operculum. It feeds on fish, molluscs and crustaceans.
Common octopus (Octopus vulgaris): it has a soft body with eight arms made up of two suction cups and a coloration that varies depending on its state and the bottom it is on - an ability to camouflage itself. It feeds on fish, molluscs and crustaceans (especially crabs).
European spider crab (Maja squinado): it has a convex, rounded triangular shell with numerous small spines. The pereiopods are long and thin, with the first pair consisting of small pincers and the rest covered in pilosity. Red or yellow-brown in color. It feeds on algae, echinoderms and small bivalves (mussels).

2. Do we visit the Ribeiro do Cavalo beach?
Yes, this tour takes place in the small protected bays and coves near the famous Ribeiro do Cavalo beach, in the area of the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park.
3. It's my first-time snorkeling, is it easy to learn?
Yes, easy to learn, our guides will teach you the best snorkeling techniques to observe the charms of the seabed of Sesimbra´s marine protected maritime park.
4. Are we accompanied on the snorkeling trip?
Yes, the guide will always be in the water with the group, duly signposted, showing the main wonders of the underwater world, ensuring the best sensory and educational experience.
In addition, a crew member accompanies the group by boat, ready to welcome the participants at the end of the activity.
5. From what age can children do this activity?
We recommend ages 9 and up, always accompanied by a family member.
6. The tour is scheduled for 2.30 p.m. and lasts 3 hours. Until what time can we arrive at the Bolhas Tours nautical center to check in?
Participants are asked to check in at the center for the snorkeling activity at least 30 minutes beforehand - at 2 p.m. - so that guests can suit up, briefing, payments, toilets, etc.
7. Part of the group wants to go snorkeling, but there are people who want to stay on the boat to enjoy this trip along the coast, is that possible?
Yes, as long as the minimum number of 4 participants is met for this activity, the tour will take place. Accompanying persons who do not take part in the activity pay 60% of the price per person set for the snorkeling tour.
8. Can you take a small snack onboard the boat?
Yes, you can bring a light snack onboard.
Note: As the program takes place in an aquatic environment, participants should have a light lunch before the activity.
9. I'm on vacation and I don't have a car. How do I get to Sesimbra from the center of Lisbon?
You can contact Bolhas Tours for transportation - available for groups of more than 6 participants and by budget, or by Uber-type apps, with an average cost per journey of €29 for up to 4/6(XL) people between Lisbon and the Bolhas Tours nautical center in Sesimbra.
10. I haven't bought a voucher yet because I can't be there at the scheduled check-in time - can I choose another time?
